The Engagement Story

A day, told quietly.

Some love stories feel like they were always meant to unfold in a specific place—and for Sarah and Zach, that place is Chicago. Sarah, originally from Hawai‘i, never imagined that a spontaneous night out in the city would change everything. But that’s exactly what happened when she met Zach at one of Chicago’s historic neighborhood bars in Wrigleyville. What started as a chance encounter quickly turned into something lasting. She followed her heart, trading island shores for the energy of the Windy City—and never looked back.

When it came time to celebrate their engagement, there was no question where their story should be captured. They returned to the very bar where it all began—the place filled with laughter, late-night conversations, and the kind of memories that quietly shape a relationship.

It wasn’t just a backdrop; it was a chapter of their story. From there, we stepped into the heart of Wrigleyville, where the iconic Wrigley Field stands as both a landmark and a symbol of timeless Chicago spirit. Opened in 1914, this historic ballpark has been home to the Chicago Cubs for over a century, entertaining generations of fans and becoming deeply woven into the city’s identity. Against that backdrop of history and legacy, Sarah and Zach’s story felt even more meaningful—two lives intersecting in a city that has seen so many moments, both ordinary and unforgettable.

Their summer engagement session was graced with the kind of day Chicago does best: warm sunlight, a gentle lake breeze drifting in from Lake Michigan, and the unmistakable hum of the neighborhood.

The wind played softly with Sarah’s hair, a poetic nod to the city she now calls home. From quiet, intimate moments outside their favorite bar to playful, joy-filled shots near the stadium, every frame reflected who they are together—easy, genuine, and deeply connected. Chicago is often called the Windy City, but it’s not just about the breeze. It’s about movement, change, and the way life carries people exactly where they’re meant to be. Sarah and Zach are proof of that. Because sometimes love doesn’t just find its way—it brings you with it.
