Sara and Michael's beautiful June wedding at Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca was a wonderful reminder that even when Mother Nature has plans of her own, an experienced photography and cinematography team, along with a great venue, can turn every challenge into an opportunity.
Sara and Michael's beautiful June wedding at Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca was a wonderful reminder that even when Mother Nature has plans of her own, an experienced photography and cinematography team, along with a great venue, can turn every challenge into an opportunity.
As a husband-and-wife team, Elena served as the solo lead photographer while Bogdan documented the day as the solo lead cinematographer. Having previously worked with Sara and Michael during their engagement session, the wedding day felt more like spending time with friends than meeting clients. The trust and comfort we built during their engagement photoshoot allowed everything to flow naturally, helping us create authentic images and video footage without forcing moments or poses. Familiarity always makes a difference, and it was evident throughout the entire day.
Like many Midwest summer weddings, the day brought intermittent rain showers that appeared and disappeared throughout the celebration.
Fortunately, Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca proved to be the perfect venue for adapting to changing weather conditions. The resort's spacious interior, elegant architectural details, and expansive lobby provided beautiful settings for portraits while we waited for the rain to pass. Whenever the skies cleared, we quickly stepped outside to take advantage of the stunning golf course views and outdoor scenery before returning indoors as needed.
Throughout the day, Elena combined intimate close-up portraits with dramatic wide-angle imagery to tell a complete visual story of Sara and Michael's wedding celebration. From emotional moments shared with family and friends to romantic portraits captured between rain showers, every image contributed to a gallery that reflects not only how the day looked, but how it felt.
One of the reasons we love photographing weddings at Eaglewood Resort & Spa is the flexibility it offers couples year-round.
Whether you're planning a winter wedding with temperatures too cold for outdoor portraits or a summer wedding interrupted by unexpected rain, the venue provides multiple backup options without sacrificing the beauty of your wedding gallery. Having access to both elegant indoor spaces and picturesque outdoor locations allows us to create a diverse collection of images regardless of weather conditions.
Eaglewood Resort & Spa is also an excellent choice for couples looking for convenience and comfort. The resort offers spacious guest rooms, beautiful accommodations, and even a luxurious penthouse suite that can be rented for the night before and after the wedding. For brides looking to enjoy a relaxed wedding morning with plenty of space for hair, makeup, and getting-ready photographs, the penthouse provides an especially beautiful setting.
