Some weddings are beautiful celebrations of love. Others tell a story, revealing something about the two people at their heart. Emma and Dylan's wedding was wonderfully both.
Some weddings are beautiful celebrations of love. Others tell a story, revealing something about the two people at their heart. Emma and Dylan's wedding was wonderfully both.
Celebrated on May 4th, 2024, their wedding brought together romance, imagination, family heritage, and a touch of cinematic magic. The setting was the beautiful Deer Path Inn, 255 E Illinois Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045, a place whose timeless character and distinctive atmosphere provided a wonderful backdrop for their celebration.
And what better date for a Star Wars-inspired wedding than May the Fourth? For Emma and Dylan, the famous phrase "May the Force be with you" became more than a playful reference. It was the perfect connection between a date, a shared passion, and a wedding that reflected their personalities in such a unique way.
Their Star Wars theme was thoughtfully woven into an atmosphere that felt sophisticated, nostalgic, and effortlessly elegant. Rather than allowing the theme to define every detail, they embraced its spirit while maintaining a refined visual style.
For Dylan, the appreciation of history and timeless beauty runs deep. Coming from a family with generations of experience in the antique business, he has developed a remarkable eye for character, craftsmanship, and the stories held within objects from another time.
That appreciation became an unmistakable part of the visual language of their wedding. Vintage elements, moody colors, elegant surroundings, and beautifully layered backgrounds came together to create imagery with a distinctive sense of depth and personality.
Our photography team, Bogdan and Elena, captured the celebration together with a videographer from our own team. Having two photographers allowed us to approach the wedding from different perspectives, creating a much wider variety of images and preserving moments that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.
There is a special advantage to having a second photographer at a wedding. While one photographer may be focused on the main events, portraits, and key moments, the second can move more freely, documenting the spontaneous interactions, emotional reactions, and little details happening naturally around them. These candid, documentary-style photographs often become some of the most meaningful images in a wedding gallery.
It is a different way of telling the story: less about directing every moment and more about observing, anticipating, and preserving the genuine emotions as they unfold. Achieving that variety with just one photographer can be challenging, particularly during a wedding where several things happen simultaneously.
Of course, every wedding is different, and every couple has its own priorities and budget.
A second photographer is not essential for every celebration, but when the budget allows, it is an addition worth considering. The opportunity to capture the same wedding from two different perspectives can make a tremendous difference in the completeness and richness of the final story.
For Emma and Dylan, the Deer Path Inn and its beautiful grounds provided a setting with a character all its own. There is something special about a place that carries its own history and atmosphere, offering a different backdrop and a new story with every couple who celebrates there.
Beyond the thoughtful details, the cinematic inspiration, and the beautiful imagery, what made this celebration special was the way it reflected Emma and Dylan themselves. Their wedding was not simply about recreating a theme, but about making it their own — bringing together the worlds they love and creating a day that felt personal, meaningful, and entirely theirs.
A wedding where old-world elegance met a galaxy far, far away. A celebration of love, imagination, family heritage, and the beauty of creating something timeless together.
May the Force be with Emma and Dylan — always.
