Elle and Matthew’s June 2024 wedding was exactly the kind of celebration that reminds us why we love photographing couples who simply embrace the moment. From beginning to end, these two were full of energy, constantly smiling, laughing, and enjoying every second of their journey into marriage. Their wedding ceremony took place at St. Monica Parish, 5136 N. Nottingham Ave., Chicago, IL 60656, followed by their full wedding photoshoot right outside the venue. Rather than spending precious time traveling from one location to another, Elle and Matthew chose to stay close to the Pinestripes Northbrook —and we were thrilled to discover just how beautiful the surroundings turned out to be.

The field behind the venue and the greenery surrounding the building created an unexpectedly beautiful and natural setting for their portraits. And then there was Elle and Matthew themselves. They were ready for anything! Spinning, running, jumping, laughing, and even the groom carrying his bride barefoot—their images became a true reflection of their energy, playfulness, and love for one another. Nothing felt forced. They simply had fun together, and that allowed us to create photographs that feel alive. To all our visionaries, this wedding is a beautiful reminder that a wedding gallery is the pure reflection of a couple’s personality.

It can be the same photographer, the same venue, and even the same surroundings, yet the photographs can look completely different because every person and every couple brings something uniquely their own. That is one of the most beautiful things about wedding photography, and it is something we encourage wholeheartedly. Don't try to recreate images you've seen from other couples.
