Elizabeth and Arthur’s October 2023 wedding at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois, was a beautiful fall celebration filled with Polish traditions, laughter, energy, and plenty of personality. As wedding photographers at Kemper Lakes Golf Club, we were fortunate to photograph their day on an unusually warm October afternoon, with soft fall sunlight creating beautiful conditions for portraits and adding a warm glow to the entire wedding gallery.

Coming from Polish backgrounds, Elizabeth and Arthur incorporated an abundance of Polish wedding traditions throughout their celebration. These meaningful cultural elements became an important part of their wedding story and gave us many opportunities to photograph authentic moments, family interactions, traditions, and emotions throughout the day. But if there was one thing that truly defined this wedding, it was Arthur’s personality ! Playful, outgoing, energetic, and always ready to make fun of the next step of the day, Arthur quickly became the unofficial director of his own wedding. Rather than trying to slow him down, we followed his energy and photographed the celebration around the way he and Elizabeth naturally interacted.

His playful attitude had an amazing effect on Elizabeth. By constantly making her laugh, teasing her, and turning ordinary moments into something fun, Arthur helped her relax and enjoy every part of the day. As photographers, this gave us the opportunity to capture much more than traditional posed wedding photographs—we were able to document their genuine personalities, spontaneous reactions, laughter, and the beautiful connection between them.

For Elizabeth and Arthur’s Kemper Lakes wedding photography, we worked as a team of two lead photographers—Bogdan and Elena, a husband-and-wife photography team who have been working side by side for many years. Having two experienced photographers allowed us to photograph the wedding simultaneously from different corners, with different lenses and completely different artistic perspectives. While one photographer could concentrate on the couple and the main action, the other could capture reactions, family members, guests, details, and unexpected moments happening elsewhere, or just different images of the couple from a mixture of close-up shots to wide landscape images.

This approach is particularly valuable at a venue like Kemper Lakes Golf Club, where the beautiful lake, expansive grounds, outdoor ceremony area, patio, and reception spaces provide so many photographic opportunities. The result was a wedding gallery that feels dynamic and complete, combining wide artistic compositions, intimate close-ups, candid photographs, emotional moments, and the spontaneous energy that made Elizabeth and Arthur’s wedding unique.

Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer continues to be one of those wedding venues that gives photographers an incredible variety of settings throughout the wedding day. The lake and surrounding golf course provide beautiful natural backgrounds for couple portraits, while the landscaped grounds and outdoor ceremony location offer additional opportunities for romantic and artistic wedding photography. The venue also provides immediate access to the grounds for wedding-party and family photographs.

For us, Elizabeth and Arthur’s wedding at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer was a perfect example of why we love photographing weddings with real personalities. Arthur brought the energy, Elizabeth brought the warmth, and together they created a day filled with laughter, tradition, emotion, and unforgettable moments.
